About Lew
I am experienced in teaching ages 10-50+, it is always the right time to learn a new skill! I have enjoyed teaching neurodivergent students, explaining how to understand rhythms and musicality without the need for books if required.
I begin lessons by focusing on coordination and mobility (10 mins) then moving to the goals of the next grade (15 mins). The body of the lesson is playing fun pieces to boost confidence (25 mins) and we finish with a discussion on improvements for the next week (5 mins). Classes will run for at least an hour with breaks when needed.

I am a biology teacher, however love improvising to soul and funk music especially. I have played in fantastic locations such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Birmingham Symphony Hall and UniBrass competitions. I have a grade 8 in trumpet and also play saxophone and guitar. I am comfortable teaching any age for beginner to intermediate lessons.
