About Dev

Hello! I'm Dev Moretti, a passionate educator and bilingual communications professional with over 15 years of experience helping people communicate effectively across languages and cultures.

I hold a TESOL certification from the Cape Town School of English and a Bachelor of Social Science in Governance and Political Studies from the University of Cape Town.

My diverse background spans language teaching, translation and interpretation, content creation, and training development—all of which inform my holistic approach to language education.

As a bilingual speaker fluent in both French and English (including Standard French, Belgian French, Swiss French, and Québécois), I understand the nuances of language acquisition from both sides of the learning experience. I'm currently expanding my own linguistic repertoire by learning Afrikaans and isiZulu, which keeps me connected to the challenges and triumphs of language learning.

Throughout my career, I've mentored teams, trained analysts, and supported diverse individuals in achieving their communication goals. Whether helping professionals craft compelling resumes, training research teams across five countries, or creating accessible content for varied audiences, I've consistently prioritized clarity, empathy, and results.

What sets me apart is my commitment to accessibility and inclusive teaching practices. I believe language learning should be engaging, practical, and adapted to each student's unique needs and learning style. My background in user experience ensures that every lesson is designed with you—the learner—at the center.

I look forward to supporting you on your language-learning journey!

About the lesson

My approach to teaching

I bring over 15 years of communications expertise and TESOL certification to create engaging, student-centered lessons that make language learning accessible and enjoyable. My background in user experience (UX) writing and accessibility means I design lessons that work for diverse learning styles and abilities.

Languages and proficiency

I'm bilingual in French and English, with proficiency in Standard French, Belgian French, Swiss French, and Québécois/Canadian French. I'm also learning Afrikaans and isiZulu, which gives me fresh insight into the language-learning journey from a student's perspective.

What to expect

My lessons are interactive, practical, and tailored to your goals. Whether you're preparing for exams, improving conversational skills, or building professional language competency, I use real-world examples and engaging materials. Expect a relaxed yet structured environment where mistakes are learning opportunities. I incorporate multimedia resources, storytelling techniques, and interactive exercises to keep lessons dynamic and memorable.

Who I teach

I work with learners at all levels—from complete beginners to advanced students seeking refinement. My lessons suit professionals needing business English or French, students preparing for academic success, travelers wanting conversational fluency, and anyone curious about language and culture. As someone experienced in mentoring and training diverse teams, I'm particularly skilled at helping neurodiverse learners and creating inclusive learning environments. I adapt my teaching style to your pace and preferences, ensuring every lesson moves you closer to your language goals.
