About Boomitha
Hi, my name is Boomitha. I am a second-year cybersecurity student at a polytechnic, and I have always had a strong interest in mathematics.
When I was in primary school, I actually struggled with mathematics. I know how confusing and frustrating it can feel when numbers don’t make sense. However, through hard work and patience, I slowly began to understand the concepts instead of memorizing formulas. As my understanding improved, my confidence grew, and I eventually started doing well in mathematics.
During my school years, I often helped my friends when they were struggling with math. Seeing them understand a topic after my explanation made me realize how much I enjoy teaching. That is why I want to teach mathematics — to help students feel confident, supported, and capable.
As your tutor, I will be patient, approachable, and supportive. I believe that everyone can learn mathematics when it is explained clearly and at the right pace. I am here not just to teach you how to solve questions, but to help you understand why the solution works

My tutoring approach focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I take time to identify where a student is confused and explain concepts step by step in a clear and patient manner. I encourage questions and create a supportive learning environment so students feel confident learning mathematics. Having helped my peers since my school days, I understand the common struggles students face and tailor my teaching to suit each individual’s learning style. Moreover, I personally struggled with mathematics during my primary school years. Through consistent effort and practice, I gained a strong understanding of the concepts and eventually excelled. This experience allows me to deeply relate to students who find mathematics challenging and guide them with empathy and patience.
