About Nava

I know firsthand how hard it can be to stay focused and absorb new information—especially when traditional learning methods don’t always work. I had to teach myself ADHD management strategies, and over time, I found what worked best for me, eventually becoming a straight-A student. Now, I use that experience to help other students find strategies that work for them. I graduated high school a year early in 2023 and earned my associate’s degree in Business Administration in 2024. Now, I’m studying Business Management (graduating in 2026) and plan to earn my MBA by 2028. While I’ve only tutored a couple of students so far, including one with ADHD, I’m passionate about making learning more accessible and less stressful. I focus on creating a structured yet flexible learning environment where students can feel confident in their abilities. My goal is to help students succeed at their own pace while making learning a positive experience!

About the lesson

I believe learning should feel engaging, not frustrating. My lessons are designed to break down reading and math concepts into simple, easy-to-understand steps, making it easier for students to grasp and retain information. I adjust my teaching approach based on each student’s needs—whether they need a structured, step-by-step method or a more flexible and interactive style.

A typical lesson starts with reviewing what they already know, introducing new material in a way that makes sense to them, and practicing with exercises that reinforce understanding. If a student struggles with focus or gets overwhelmed, I use strategies that help them stay engaged and motivated. I also incorporate techniques that have helped me personally with ADHD management, making sure students feel supported, not pressured. My goal is to build confidence, not just skills, so they walk away feeling capable and proud of their progress.

I work best with elementary school students who need extra support in reading and math, especially those who benefit from a patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style.
