About the lesson

The first thing I do on my first week is to find out the type of learner my student is and what is of interest to him/her.

This will guide me on teaching methodology and activities.

My favorite teaching method is play way and discussion method. Being an early years and primary school teacher, I put most of my lessons in story telling.

Our reading plan starts from
1. Phonemic awareness
2. Identification of initial sounds using jolly phonics.
3. Blending of 2 sounds using word families.
4. Learning of tricky words
5. Learning consonant blends
6. Learning diagraphs
7. Building fluency
