About COURTNEY

Based in Riverside, CA, I am a current California-certified middle school teacher specializing in both general education and accelerated 7th-grade math, with 12 years of classroom experience. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from UC Davis, a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics, and a Master of Arts in Learning and Teaching from the University of Redlands. I firmly believe that every student can be a "math person"—it simply takes the right approach. Students learn mathematics by doing mathematics. My tutoring sessions are intentionally designed to meet students exactly where they are, blending targeted support with proactive enrichment. I create customized lesson plans that tap into your child's prior knowledge while introducing new, challenging concepts. If your child faced challenges in the past, I specialize in re-engaging them with those difficult topics to clear up misconceptions, address unfinished learning, and replace frustration with clarity. Through consistent, positive practice, I help students gain confidence in their abilities as a problem solver. Invest in your child’s academic journey today, and watch them transform into a successful, self-assured learner who is ready to conquer any math challenge.
