About Shimna

Hello! My name is Shimna, and I am a passionate, certified educator dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential and build real academic confidence. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and Literature, backed by an intensive, on-site 120-hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification.
Teaching is more than a job to me—it is about creating a spark. Over the past 4+ years, I have worked extensively as both a school classroom teacher and a specialized remedial educator. I have had the wonderful privilege of training an incredibly diverse range of learners:
Young Learners & Primary Students: Helping children build core foundational skills using patience, enthusiasm, and creative activities.
Secondary & High School Students: Preparing teenagers for school exams, boosting their grades, and simplifying complex curriculum topics.
Adult Learners: Coaching adults and college students to improve their communication skills, pronunciation, and conversational confidence.
Because of my international training and background, I am highly adaptable and welcome students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Beyond English language and literature, I am also an expert at breaking down complex concepts in Mathematics and Science for school-age students, ensuring they learn with absolute clarity.

About the lesson

My classes are interactive, welcoming, dynamic, and 100% focused on your personal goals. I do not believe in boring, repetitive textbook drilling. Instead, I bring language, math, and science to life using real-world examples, interactive tools, and continuous progress tracking.
What we can focus on in our sessions:
English & ESL: Real-world conversation, natural pronunciation, phonetics, grammar accuracy, academic writing, and vocabulary expansion.
School Curriculum Support (Grades 1-12): Homework help, concept clarity, and exam preparation across multiple competitive educational boards (including CBSE, ICSE, and IB).
Math & Science: Overcoming subject anxiety by building strong problem-solving logic and simplified, step-by-step understanding.
Senior educational directors and trainers have praised my teaching style as highly attentive, affirming, patient, and creative. I make sure every student feels comfortable making mistakes because that is exactly how we learn! Whether you want to ace your school exams, master a tricky math chapter, or feel confident speaking English naturally, I am here to guide you every single step of the way.
Let's book a trial session and start reaching your goals together!
