About Amelia

I am a qualified tutor with 5 years of experience teaching Latin and Greek to students of all levels, from complete beginners to university-level learners. My students have ranged from school pupils preparing for exams to adult learners studying for pleasure. I can cover any text requested by students but am especially confident approaching Homeric texts in Greek, and texts of the Republican period in Latin. For those students studying Ancient History or Classical Civilisation I am happy to approach any period and have an especially detailed knowledge of the Roman Republic and Julius Caesar.

About the lesson

Looking to master Latin or Ancient Greek? My lessons combine clear explanations, step-by-step grammar breakdowns, and plenty of practice with real texts to help you read and enjoy the ancient languages with confidence. I focus on building strong foundations in vocabulary and grammar while also exploring the literature, history, and culture that bring these languages to life. What to expect: • Tailored, interactive lessons (60–90 minutes) designed to suit your pace and goals • A mix of translation practice, targeted exercises, and text-based learning • Encouragement to develop independent reading skills and enjoy authentic ancient authors Who are the lessons for? • Ages 11 to adult • Beginners, intermediate, and advanced students • Suitable for GCSE, A-Level, IB, university prep, or lifelong learners
