About Deborah

My name is Deborah, and I am a public relations professional based in the Washington, D.C. area. I have a bachelor’s degree from Rider University, where I majored in public relations and minored in film and media studies. My professional experience has strengthened my writing, editing, and research skills, which I can use to help students in their language arts courses. I also have a Master Catechist Certification from Christendom College, where I studied the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I have experience teaching religious education to middle school-aged students and am eager to expand into tutoring additional subjects.

About the lesson

I like to approach tutoring by explaining concepts in ways that will make sense to each student, ensuring that they truly understand the material. I would start off by reviewing the material in advance if applicable. From there, I would have the student share what they feel most confident about in the subject, along with the specific areas where they need to improve. We would spend more time reviewing the areas where the student needs extra help.
