About Jessica

I have 5+ years of experience tutoring math. My expertise is teaching high school, having spent 2 years as a full-time 9th grade algebra tutor. However, I have successfully worked with adults, college students, middle school, and elementary aged children in subjects ranging from long division and fractions to calculus II.

About the lesson

Educational research shows that things make more sense and are more easily remembered when you can connect them with what you already know. Therefore, when I tutor, I attempt to help students connect mathematical concepts to what they already know. I take this approach with patience, knowing that many people find math tedious and frustrating.

Perfect! She had my son up to pace in high school honors algebra in no time. He had been struggling, and she mentored him in the way he needed to connect with the math and to be comfortable with having to have a tutor to help him. She was awesome!!!
