About Devin
I'm going into my sophomore year at Purdue University and I am studying Mechanical Engineering. My comfortability with high-level math attests to my simultaneous expertise with more foundational math. I first took AP Calculus AB freshman year of high school. I did the IB diploma program too so I have a lot of knowledge with those unique perspectives of teaching and experience in proof-based mathematics. I got an 800 on the math section of my SAT, a 5 on AP Calculus BC (and 5 AB sub score), a 6 on IB Math AA HL, and have received A's in my courses for years. The most recent math course I completed was Linear Algebra/Differential Equations at Purdue, and I'll be wrapping up with Partial Diff. Eq. in the fall 2025 semester. Whether pre-algebra or calculus, I have a drive and commitment to sharing my learning in math and look forward to working with you!

I have worked with peer-teaching methods for years in collaborative environments. Now with experience as a college-level teaching assistant, I have expanded my skills that I bring to teaching. I understand and value that everyone learns differently, requiring a unique combination of audio, visual, and written aids. I like to tailor the teaching experience to each student, and I try to take the perspective of a peer rather than always a teacher. For math and physics, I value strong explanations as to why things work, and bridging connections from the equations and concepts the real world so it becomes less abstract. I can teach anywhere from elementary level math to AP Calculus BC, and mechanics physics is my strong suit.
