About Krystal

I am a Senior Financial Analyst at a tech company in the SF Bay Area, specializing in complex budget management and financial strategy for workplace and legal operations. I graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Managerial Economics and a double minor in Technology Management and Psychology, achieving a 3.8 GPA. With experience as a Teaching Assistant and extensive tutoring, I bring a solid background in education and mentorship to my work. My professional role requires precision, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, all of which I apply in tutoring. I am passionate about helping students not only master math but also develop the analytical skills and confidence that will serve them in all areas of their future.

I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable and confident tackling challenges. Some may need to work through multiple problems to build focus, while others need help breaking patterns of repeated mistakes. For students dealing with test anxiety, I assist with managing time constraints, memory lapses, and confidence issues. Each student begins with an introductory session to discuss their struggles and goals, with feedback gathered from them or their parent/guardian. While this helps guide our focus, I understand that challenges may be more complex, and lessons are tailored accordingly. I take notes during each session, adjusting my approach to meet their needs. This method works well across all ages and subjects, though more advanced courses may require more detailed, step-by-step problem-solving. In those cases, I adjust my tutoring to fit the specific challenges of the subject.
