About Natasha

My name is Natasha Singh, and I am a current law student through the University of Waikato. I love to listen to music, read, and watch films (quite the nerd!). I was born in Auckland, and raised near the beautiful rivers of the Waikato in Hamilton. I’ve returned now to Auckland to secure better job opportunities, and to support my family.

I come from a family of Fijian-Indian immigrants who put an absolute emphasis on education. I speak both English and Hindi, with English being my first language. My special interest has always been languages and literature, being raised by a father who would buy me book after book, hoping to expand my cultural and literary knowledge. I am currently learning how to speak French & Korean on the side.

I would love to teach as it is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable job experiences I could have! I really enjoy the English subject, as well as socializing and sharing my knowledge with others. Through teaching, I will be able to make money doing what I enjoy the most. I have a good track record with the subject, with Excellence Endorsed in English for year 12 and 13; my assignments are also on hand as exemplars.

About the lesson

My approach to personal tutoring begins with getting to know you, and your level. I believe in creating a judgement free area, and would like to know you and how you learn before commencing.

Depending if you’re someone who needs to learn visually, orally, or even through games, I am able to cater towards that. My best interest is to help you become someone who can read, write, develop & convey ideas efficiently.

I also loan out my books to students. Reading is one of the most valuable things a student can do. I will assign you books to read over a period of time, often assigning a chapter or two at a time. This is optional, as I know some students have a lot on their plate already. However, it is highly recommended as it can help me gauge out where you are in identifying, reporting, and articulating ideas in texts which is integral for NCEA.
