About Sophie
I am a student who recently sat their GCSEs, obtaining only 7,8 and 9s. Having done them so recently my knowledge is contemporaneous with the new 9-1 GCSEs. Therefore my teaching style is based purely on tried and tested strategies which I used to achieve such high grades. I am very passionate about learning and throughout my whole secondary school experience, I spent my time tutoring younger years, all of whom made massive progress and are now on the path to success.

Areas we will focus on:
• exam preparation - making sure students are confident in tackling exam questions
• subject content - helping students to gain an in-depth understanding of the specification
• revision strategies- providing students with the most effective and time efficient ways to revise, which have been personalised to suit their educational needs.
How do I plan to do this?
I will start off with an initial assessment allowing me to determine the student’s ability. This may highlight weak areas or absent knowledge, to which we can respond to by setting targets to overcome these hurdles. In addition to this I will ask for input from the student as to any specific areas the want to cover. I aim to cover a topic per every term and at the end of each half-term there will be a mini assessment to monitor progress and consolidate learning. The resources I will provide include:
- past papers
- revision tasks
- my old revision notes and books
- exam preparation packs
I am very patient and understanding, so I’m willing to take on students of all abilities, treating everyone with the same respect and support they deserve.
