About Shianne

Hello! I'm a certified elementary educator with seven years of experience helping young learners develop strong foundations in reading, writing, and mathematics. I have worked with students in Kindergarten through third grade in both whole-class and small-group settings, giving me extensive experience supporting learners at all skill levels.
I believe every child can thrive when instruction is personalized, engaging, and encouraging. My tutoring sessions are designed to meet each student where they are, celebrate their strengths, and provide targeted support to help them reach their goals. Whether a child needs intervention to close learning gaps or enrichment to stay challenged, I create lessons that build both academic skills and confidence.
Parents appreciate my patient, positive teaching style and my commitment to keeping them informed about their child's progress. I use research-based instructional practices, interactive activities, and continuous progress monitoring to ensure every session is purposeful and effective.
My goal is simple: to help children become confident, capable learners who feel proud of their growth and excited about learning. I look forward to partnering with your family to help your child achieve lasting success in school and beyond.

About the lesson

Every child can succeed with the right instruction, encouragement, and support. As a certified elementary educator with seven years of classroom experience, I specialize in helping Kindergarten through 3rd grade learners strengthen their reading, writing, and math skills through engaging, personalized lessons. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help children become confident, independent learners who enjoy learning.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
A typical 60-minute session includes:
5–10 minutes: Review previously learned skills and set the learning goal.
20–25 minutes: Direct instruction on a new skill with guided practice.
15–20 minutes: Independent practice through engaging activities or games while I provide feedback.
5–10 minutes: Review key concepts, celebrate successes, and share practice activities for home.
Every lesson is individualized, so no two sessions are exactly alike.
What Sets Me Apart
Unlike many tutors, I work with children every day in the classroom and understand the academic expectations students face. I combine intervention strategies, engaging instruction, and relationship-building to create lessons that are both effective and enjoyable.
Families choose me because I:
Personalize every lesson to meet each child's unique needs.
Build confidence alongside academic skills.
Communicate regularly with parents about progress.
Create a positive, encouraging learning environment where mistakes are viewed as opportunities to grow.
Use classroom-tested strategies that help children transfer what they learn in tutoring to success at school.
Who My Lessons Are For
My tutoring is designed for:
Kindergarten through 3rd grade students
Children who are struggling and need targeted intervention
Students who are performing at grade level but want to stay ahead
Advanced learners seeking enrichment and greater challenge
Homeschool families looking for supplemental instruction
Students preparing for beginning- or end-of-year assessments
Children who need additional support in reading, writing, or mathematics
