About Patricia Andrea
Hello! I'm Patricia Andrea—but my students usually call me Teacher Pat. I am a TEFL-certified English educator from the Philippines with a deep passion for making language learning an active, joyful experience.
Having lived and worked in Tokyo, Japan, as both an English teacher and a children’s gym instructor, I specialize in helping young learners (ages 3 to 12) build confidence through movement, music, and interactive play. My background in marketing and multimedia creation also allows me to design highly engaging, colorful learning materials tailored to capture a child's imagination.
I pride myself on being patient, adaptable, and culturally aware, ensuring every student feels completely safe and encouraged to learn at their exact pace without fear of making mistakes. Outside of teaching, I love exploring digital content creation, discovering new cultures, and seeking out the best local street food!

Hi, I'm Patricia Andrea!
My Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe children learn best when they are actively moving, playing, and feeling completely safe to express themselves. My approach is highly interactive and relies on "learning through play." Instead of rigid lectures, I use storytelling, music, movement, and hands-on games to keep young minds engaged. I focus heavily on positive reinforcement and patience to build a child’s confidence so that speaking English becomes a fun, natural habit rather than a chore.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Every session is structured to match the attention span and energy levels of young learners:
Warm-up: We start with a fun song, a simple dance, or a movement activity to get energized and comfortable.
Interactive Introduction: I introduce new words or themes using colorful visuals, props, or a short story.
Active Practice: We transition into structured games or physical activities where the student gets to use the new English words out loud in a low-pressure way.
Cool Down & Praise: We wrap up with a calming routine, celebrate the day's progress with positive feedback, and establish excitement for our next class.
What Sets Me Apart
My unique background as both an English educator and a children’s gym instructor in Japan gives me a distinct edge. I know how to channel high energy into productive learning and adapt activities on the fly if a student is losing focus. Having lived and worked internationally, I am highly adaptable, culturally aware, and skilled at connecting with children from diverse backgrounds who might initially feel shy or overwhelmed.
Who My Lessons Are For
My classes are specifically designed for young learners, primarily between the ages of 3 and 12. They are ideal for early beginners taking their first steps in English, as well as young students who need a supportive, energetic environment to practice communicating confidently. I adapt my pace and activities entirely to your child's age, ability, and personal interests.
