Hi! I’m Chelsy, a certified high school math teacher with a Master’s degree in Mathematics and eight years of experience helping students succeed in everything from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. I’ve taught in diverse classrooms and served as a department chair and instructional coach, so I know how to meet students where they are and help them grow with clarity and confidence. As a passionate and experienced math educator with a Master’s in Mathematics and nearly a decade in the classroom, I believe every student can access deep mathematical understanding with the right support. My teaching method blends inquiry-based learning with real-world connections, helping students develop confidence and make sense of math on their own terms.
A typical lesson with me begins with a quick check-in and a warm-up that activates prior knowledge. From there, we explore new content together through guided discovery, examples, and collaborative problem-solving. Lessons always include space for reflection and independent practice to solidify understanding.
What sets me apart is my commitment to equity and inclusion in math education. I create a safe, supportive environment that celebrates mistakes as learning opportunities and fosters mathematical curiosity. With experience teaching everything from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC, I adapt my instruction to meet each learner’s needs—whether you’re catching up, filling gaps, or preparing for advanced coursework.
