About Jesus
My business stands out because I believe students are never lost in a subject, they just need practice! Some students learn a topic for the very first time and start to panic and feel "lost". I hope to help as many students as I can to understand chemistry concepts that will allow them to practice with confidence. Practice will allow every student to gradually feel confident until they fully or mostly understand the subject/concept.
I have just started tutoring at Bel Air Middle School and I love every second of it. Although I am new at tutoring I can already tell that kids understand the subject way more when I tutor. I am majoring in Biology at UTEP and have seen a whole lot of chemistry. With my knowledge, I do not doubt that I will be able to help any student.
Additionally, if students feel uncomfortable meeting up or having a virtual meeting, I would have no problem with making a video (however long it needs to be) answering and explaining any questions on the subject.
I can't wait to get started and hope to see and help many students!
Thank You!
I started teaching because I used to work in the food industry for 2 years and it was the worst. I realized that working in the food industry made you feel alone and not contribute to a bigger idea.
I decided that I wanted to make a difference and impact people. Teaching was the obvious answer to me because while I was working in the food industry, I was coaching middle school football. I realized that when I was coaching and teaching the kids, the job didn't feel like a job and I was just happy. I am still a coach and love my job, but it is seasonal. This tutoring career could offer me that awesome feeling of impacting students all year!
I have been all around chemistry since 8th grade.
In high school, I took chemistry 1 and 2, as well as AP Chemistry, and ended the class year with a 95+ grade. In college (at UTEP) I also took chemistry 1305 and 1306 and passed with an A. I am majoring in Biological sciences which is a field full of biology and chemistry. This semester (Fall 2022) I am taking Organic Chemistry 1 and currently have an A (I plan on taking Organic chemistry 2 next semester). lastly, I was a peer leader for chemistry at UTEP which is basically a tutor for college chemistry students.
Hopefully, it is obvious that I am surrounded by chemistry and love it! I have not only been around chemistry but have succeeded at a high level (thanks to practice)!

First, I have to understand what they know about the subject and what they want to know more about.
Then, I like to review what they know and get them warmed up. Then we can start going over the topic that needs clarification. I have many chemistry workbooks that have a lot of problems that I can use as practice problems. But before any practice problems are given, I'll explain in great detail a simple problem. Additionally, I like to use acronyms to help understand rules for different concepts.
Overall, chemistry requires practice for every concept. I will answer questions, repeat answers and details, keep the student on their toes by asking them questions, and summing it all up. Then I will assign some practice questions if I see fit.
I have worked with middle school students, high school students, and college students.
Look for someone who firstly knows the subject and who cares about the bigger picture. Sure, someone may know something about chemistry but do they care about your well-being and educational career? If the teacher hired doesn't care about the teaching as much as the money then not very much will be learned. Only the bare minimum will be taught and your money will be taken. I hope to leave no doubt that I obviously love the subject, but very much love the teaching and connecting part for the better of the student's future.
A recent memory of mine was realizing the connection and impact I have had on my student-athletes lives as a football coach. On our last game of the season when we won the championship one of the best players I had coached and had seen throughout my days of playing football came up to me, hugged me, and was crying saying "We did it". Every day I think about that realizing that he could have just said nothing to me but the connection we built was too strong. He was one of the few players who I coached my first year of coaching. Although I was just a football coach, life lessons were learned and an unbreakable bond was formed. I cherish that moment and hope to make great connections with students and make an impact on their life ( no matter how big or small)!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should first asses themselves and see if they really need help with the subject or are just not putting in enough effort. Chemistry courses are difficult no matter the level and require time and dedication. Additionally, the money going into the tutoring session isn't falling from the trees and should only be used if needed.
Most importantly, students should know that there are no dumb questions, especially in chemistry. Chemistry is a science, and in science, questions are asked a lot! If a student is lost or confused after attempting to understand, then they should contact a tutor. A lot shouldn't be asked before going to an instructor for help. Overthinking can happen quickly and is unnecessary for kids. There is already so much being demand from these kids!

Ten dollars would be the minimum for a tutoring session. But there is no limit on questions that can be asked during that session.
Payment can be discussed before the session. All is subject to change but I am flexible.
