About Sherieda

Hello there! My name is Sherieda, and I am thrilled to welcome you to my online tutoring community. With a background as a Teaching Assistant (K-6) and an experienced Online ESL Tutor (Children (5-13) & Adults (18-60) ), I bring a passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

I believe education is the gateway to freedom. And as an experienced tutor/teacher assistant I will help you practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. Whether you're a beginner, pre-intermediate or intermediate , my sessions are tailored to meet your needs. I have worked as a Teacher Assistant for an arts based after school program in my senior year of highschool and so I was already introduced to the world of working with children in education. But my journey into teaching began after graduating high school while I was in search of a job. After graduating highschool I got hired as an Afterschool Teaching Assistant at a daycare for children aged 6 months to 10 years old. From there on, I have always worked with children in afterschool programs that are academic and arts based. This experience ignited a passion for sharing knowledge and supporting the learning journey of others. Eager to expand my impact, I ventured into the realm of online ESL tutoring, drawn by the opportunity to connect with diverse learners from around the world.

Education : Bachelors of Art in Political Science with a minor in Business Law.

Training : Former elementary teaching assistant in New York City Public Schools and Online ESL Children & Adult Tutor

About the lesson

When working with a new student, I believe in establishing a solid foundation for a successful learning journey. My typical process involves the following steps:

Introduction and Assessment | Conducting a diagnostic assessment allows me to gauge the student's current knowledge and skills| Goal Setting| Personalized Learning Plan| Interactive and Engaging Sessions| Continuous Feedback | Adaptability| Encouragement and Motivation

By following this comprehensive process, I aim to provide a holistic and effective learning experience tailored to the individual needs and aspirations of each student.

I have worked with students in elementary school (6 - 7 years old), middle school (10 - 13 years old) and ESL Adults & Teens ( 18-50 years old) .

My advice to student is that there is no limit to what you can learn and how you adapt. Everyone is on a different path!
