About Mika
I have over five years of tutoring and editing/proofreading experience working with students ages 14 and up! This experience was born after beginning work in my college Writing Center helping students, traditional and otherwise, craft stellar writing assignments. This included essays, research projects, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, and even lab reports! I also excelled at editing essays online for Thinking Storm, an online writing center on contract with multiple universities throughout the United States. I also was afforded the opportunity to work with AmeriCorps as a Student Mentor, working with high school freshman on developing excellent writing and reading skills. This was after graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Professional Writing. Still have questions? Feel free to reach out!
I began teaching after discovering I had a knack, and a love for it! After befriending multiple peers in my undergraduate school's writing center, I decided I wanted a piece of the pie and applied! Once learning that I really enjoyed assisting others in improving their writing ability, I reached out to other avenues like the online writing center.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing and a minor in Professional Writing. I have over five years of experience in tutoring students of varying ages in my college Center for Writing and Communication, online proofreading/editing via Thinking Storm (an online writing center), and through AmeriCorps.
