About Georgia

I graduated from college in August of 2019. I finished college in 3 years and graduated with two degrees, a BA in Political Science and a BA in Journalism. I also graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Honors College. I finished high school in 2016, I graduated there with a 4.5 GPA and made all 8 semesters on the Honor Roll.

I now work professionally at a local newspaper. My responsibilities there include finding stories to write about, and interviewing for them, but I'm also responsible for writing and editing my own stories. I spend about 30 hours per week writing and editing. I also write for two online news platforms and have published a poetry book and two children's books.

In my very little amount of free time, I'm a substitute teacher for Pre K through 12th grade. I have taught every type of student in every subject.

Every adult, in every field, needs to be a good writer and reader. If you've ever written an email to a client or a cover letter to a potential future employer, you know how daunting it can be. In the age of TikTok and Instagram, we're losing the art of written communication, and I want to help students younger than me learn how beautiful and important written communication really is.

About the lesson

We'll start by just getting to know each other and figuring out where you are with your studies and what you're working on currently in school. Once we have that baseline we can figure out what your specific needs are and what you want extra help with. If you're an elementary schooler, your needs and wants are going to be very different than if you're a 9th grader reading Shakespere for the first time or a 12th grader that needs help with college essays.
