About Kristi
I have been teaching and tutoring for over 30 years. After receiving my degrees, I was an instructor at two colleges and a university for about 8 years. I then taught elementary and mid-level students for 15 years before becoming an Administrator. I tutor students part-time because it is fun!
I was asked to teach 3 reading classes to Community College students when I was working on my Master's Degree. It seemed like an exciting opportunity!
I have my Master's degree in English literature from California State University, Chico.
I taught in 2 colleges, 1 university, public and private high schools, middle schools and elementary schools.

I ask the student to tell me a little about themselves, and I usually ask them questions about their outside interests. After I make them a bit more comfortable, I ask them to write something for me, or we discuss a paragraph so that I can understand their abilities and comprehension.
I have worked with every age and "type" of student out there! I cannot think of a type that I have not worked with.
Relax. This actually may be more fun than you expect. Don't expect me to do your work, but please be ready to have fun!
I do not think anything can compare to my wedding day! I was so nervous! It wasn't nervous about my decision, I was nervous that I would trip and be embarrassed. But it was a beautiful day, and all of my most-loved people were there... especially my groom! I felt beautiful, and he was so handsome, sweet... and nervous! We were a great match.
