About Lauren
Hi, I'm Lauren!
I'm here on this website to offer online private tutoring sessions for Florida families. I've been tutoring for 2 years, and spent the 9 years prior to that working with with young children through teens in the home, school, and community environment. I strive to create individualized plans to support learners' school- or home-based education, using technologies and materials that cater to their interests, strengths, and goals. I have extensive experience with children with Autism and ADHD, and other learners with exceptional needs. I love to laugh and be silly with my learners, encourage them to trust their skills, and foster their independent pursuit of learning.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education (2010) and a Masters of Education in Exceptional Student Education (2016). While I did earn the Professional Florida Educator's Certificate, I did not persue traditional classroom teaching. I focused on behavior therapy in homes, centers, and providing support in schools. I earned the Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification in 2017.

In advance of the first session, I speak with the parent/guardian to determine the support the learner needs, their learning style, and personal preferences. I review any recent schoolwork or assessments, if provided. The first session focuses on assessment and building rapport. Then, I work with parents/guardians to establish goals for tutoring, and begin the learning journey.
I've been fortunate to work with a variety of learners in my career. My clientele has aged from 2-21 years of age. I have extensive experience with learners with exceptional needs (primarily Autism and ADHD).
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I recommend considering what format and setting is most conducive to their comfort level, schedule, and learning style (online, in-home, clinic, etc.). I find that my clients appreciate the accessibility and flexibility of video call sessions, while some learners may benefit more from in-person support. Additionally when considering online sessions, the learners' preferences for support materials; For example, some of my clients prefer to have print-outs to supplement their online sessions, while others may not have consistent access to printing services. I'm happy to be able to provide support across a multitude of circumstances.

Perfect! I cannot begin to describe how amazing Lauren is. My daughter wasn’t even able to read a couple of simple words now she can read whole books in her grade level! Also due to her help she is able to move on to second grade when I was told she wasn’t going to. I highly recommend Lauren to any parent that struggling with their child. I look forward to working with her again the next school year!
