About Caly

Ever since I can remember, I have loved the literature and language. I began tutoring youger students when I was just a teenager and continued throughout college. Now, I am a teacher and coach by profession, a mom to 3 growing children, and wife to a teacher and coach. I have a Masters in Education, a Masters Certificate in ESL, and a BA in English. I currently teach 9-12th grade students, focusing on World Literature, American Literature, and ESOL.

I am passionate about reading, writing, and believe English is the foundation for all other academics. I love helping people develop their writing, speaking, and reading abilities. I also believe that no matter your personal, academic, or professional goals that ability to communicate yourself well is dependent on your English Language Arts skills.

My goal is to simplify the most difficult or complicated elements of reading, writing, speaking, and listening for any learner to digest and master. I help students meet their goals, exceed expectations, and have fun along the way. I look forward to meeting and helping you, soon!

I come from a family of teachers and administrators, so you could say it's in my blood. I have tutored and taught since my teens, but just returned to full-time teaching as my kids grew out of their infant years. I love being back in the classroom!

2. Create a smart goal or plan for meeting their needs.

3. Target lessons, activities, etc to meet their needs with flexability to re-assess as needed.

ages 5-18, primarily middle and high school students in recent years.

Find someone who clearly explains their plan for helping you, has a focus for each meeting, and is organized.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1. Why do I need a tutor? Be specific about an area of struggle or need.

2. How do I learn best? Do I need details, step by step instruction? Do I need hands-on learning? Do I need example videos?

3. How much time do I want to commit to this? Think about the time of each lesson & in-between - be honest!
