About Angela

With a History Associates of Arts, Angela Duke has been studying history for more than 3 years. To her, history is best taught through storytelling and discovering historical patterns. She looks forward to getting to know her students and to come up with an individual curriculm plan for their success.

Experience: A.A History & Currently enrolled for a B.S in History and Social Studies with an emphasis in Secondary Education.

Skills:

-She is very knowledable about the format to A.P World History Classes and can help with test-readiness.

-She also has a strong background in essay writing and can help students learn how to write an effective essay. (DBQ, Cause & Effect, Compare & Contrast, Aurgementative, or Descripitve Essays)

-Help student learn how to analyze documents and historical evidence

-Promotes organization skills and use of study tools

I've always had a passion for education, whether it was tutoring my peers in high school or in my university.

I have an Associates of Arts in History, and am currently studying at WKU to be an educator.

About the lesson

With new students I generally try to first establish what issues they are currently struggling with and then come up with a success plan for them.

I have mostly worked with high-school student but am willing to offer advice and guidance to freshman and sophmores in college.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
"What do I need most help on? Is it test prep? General studying? Essay-writing? And vice-versa, what do I need less help on?"

When you first focus on what you're strengths and weaknesses are, you can better narrow down options on how to improve. In one area you might just need some simple organization tools, or in some you might need more focused learning.

I have a starting rate of 25$ an hour during the regular school year, but it goes up to 35$ during finals season. This is due to an influx of work and time I need to dedicate to each student.
