About Julien

Through my studies at a highly respected school for educators, I can greatly aid students in need for improvement on comprehension and anaylization of all Historical and Social topics. I have spent time educating students both in Historical sources and Ecological History of the Northern California region.

I thoroughly enjoy helping individuals reach their academic goals, whether it be for personal growth or academic success. I believe my demeanor and teaching style are beneficial to someone looking to improve their skills.

Upon graduating High School I completed a year long internship as a Student Naturalist at Shady Creek Outdoor School where I taught classes of up to 30 students on Ecology, Water Systems, Conservation, Animal Species and Team Building. I developed a love for teaching students and watching them learn about new and interest topics. After my internship I attended Chico State where I studied History and received my Bachelors in June of 2020. I am now enrolled as Credential Student who will be a licenses High School Teacher by June of 2021.

About the lesson

When working with new students I find it best to have a comfortable conversation about their interests, leading to a discussion about their interest level in History. Then it is best to establish what the students academic goals are. I inquire about various reasons a students might need or want tutoring: Is the student studying History to improve their personal skills, or are they struggling and need to understand key concpets? Is the student trying to maintain grades for atheltics, or to keep GPA at a certain level? Knowing why a student is reaching out for assistance can be a great indicator of the best strategies for students to achieve their goals.

Do not hire the first person you talk to. Education is best obtained when the learner is in a stress free comfortable environment, hopfully with someone they enjoy talking to. I urge students to verbally meet with any prospective tutor and make sure that it is a fit for both parties.

I do not have a standard pricing system. I simply have a conversation with prospective tutors and see what their schedule is like and how much time they would like to spend with me. I am flexible and willing to work with students who may need limited or extra assistance.
