About Yaakov (Jacob)

My name is Yaakov (Jacob) Grossman. I have a passion for History and Language that is contagious! You will love working with me because of my warmth and all of my fun facts. I love learning and teaching others. I have a MAsters in Jewish Education from Yeshiva University and a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Dickinson College. My first teaching job was 13 years ago, although much of my professional experience the past five years has been as a Chaplain.

I love getting excited about the material I am giving over- it makes it more interesting for everyone. More than anything, I am an extremely warm person who enjoys forming lasting relationships with students. I am happy to mentor them.

I worked part-time as an instructor in several Jewish Sunday schools/religious education school. Immediately upon graduating college, I began work on an MS in Education.

I completed two semesters of supervised student teaching (3rd and 4th Grade) during Graduate school. I earned an MS in Jewish Education, studying Curriculum/Lesson Plan writing, Child Development, and Classroom Management.

About the lesson

First and Foremost, I find out about their needs. I focus on conveying the excitement of learning.

3rd and 4th Grade and a mixed-age class composed of teenagers and younger kids.

Make sure that you connect with their style and personality. It is much more important than their depth of knowledge. After all, if you are bored, then you won't be able to concentrate.
