About Adam

I have been a secondary education teacher at Saratoga Springs High School for two years. I have taught introduction to economics, participation in government, global history and geography 1, and regents level United States history. I have the ability to tutor any other level of social studies history as well. I am determined to help you excel in whichever issues you might be facing. I will work using your strengths to best prepare you to succeed in the classroom.

I enjoy the differentiated levels that all students present. Each student is unique in their own ways, and being able to help students succeed in the classroom using those unique qualities allows for a much greater experience overall. By teaching students the tips and tricks that I have, they will feel much more comfortable to be able to accomplish any task presented to them in the classroom.

I graduated with my undergrad from the University at Albany SUNY, where I majored in history and minored in education. I also played on the football team for five years, so I understand students who struggle with time management. I then continued in my education by receiving my master's degree in secondary education (7-12) from SUNY Albany as well. After I graduated, I covered a short two-month maternity leave position at Voorheesville Middle School where I taught U.S. History. That following summer, I taught summer school humanities at Albany Middle School. I received a teaching position at Saratoga Springs High School, where I have taught social studies for the past year and a half.

About the lesson

First, I would spend time getting to know how the student works. I would give the student a baseline assessment to help me gain a better understanding of their level of knowledge on the topics that are in need as well as focus on the skills that need to be addressed as well. After, we will move forward with skill building while also addressing content knowledge through activities and assessments.

I have taught students of all different backgrounds and abilities. I believe all students have so much to contribute to the classroom.
