About Chloe

I tutor in basic mathematics such as Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. I've been tutoring refugees as a volunteer for a couple of months until school began. As soon as college began, I started to travel and tutor my friend's little sister, who had difficulty with math.

I used to work in a drinks establishment called, "The Teahouse Tapioca & Tea", where I improved my communication skills with customers. I am quick when it comes to learning such as making tea and tapioca, so I would be able to find a way for you to understand lessons quickly and easier.

Math used to be my worst subject until I had a private tutor myself. Ever since then, math became my favorite subjects to work on. I want to help students find a way to not only understand their lessons better but to enjoy doing them and having a positive attitude towards the subject.

I enjoy teaching and helping children love math! I love working with children and seeing them smile when they get something right.

I would ask what they learned in school today. After that, I would ask if they had any questions from the lessons before they start to do their homework with me. 



I tutored refugees in the summer of 2016 for two months before I returned to school. Around the summer of 2018, I began to tutor my friend's little sister (second grader) in mathematics up to now.

First I would ask about their interest in math. For instance, "Do you enjoy doing math?" Another question would be asking them about their strengths and weaknesses in specific areas in math, such as Algebra, Geometry, Pre-calculus, etc. I want to get to know my student before we begin the lesson.

I want my students to be comfortable. If they were to travel to me, I would ask a variety of questions. I have a puppy in the house, so I would ask, "Are you allergic to dogs? If not, would you mind if I just let the dog roam around the house?" If they prefer a seat on the chair, I would bring a pillow to allow them to relax on it. There are students who tend to work better in music, so I would play instrumental music in the background to allow them to concentrate.

If I'm working with children, treats such as gummy bears would encourage them to do better. I was often given gummy bears at the end of a tutoring session for studying well.



I work with little children so far.

I was part of the Orchestra Full Orchestra, which was the highest group. What I loved about the group was that we got to play one of the most beautiful songs on Earth: Nimrod. It was one of my favorite classical pieces, and it was dedicated to a musician suffering from depression. It made me feel relaxed and felt at ease. We didn't get a good score, but I enjoyed playing such a wonderful song.

Details

I initially want to start off with fifteen dollars. If I'm able to do well and find students interested in my sessions, I will probably rise it up.
