About Julia

My name is Julia. I moved to the United States at the age of 15, so I understand very well the challenges students face when studying in a new education system and a new language. I am fluent in both Russian and English and familiar with the American school system. During high school, I took the most challenging honors-level and AP classes and successfully completed them. However, math was not always easy for me. There was a time when I did not truly understand it, and memorizing formulas did not help. I had to find my own way from confusion to real understanding. That experience shaped my teaching approach. I know what it feels like not to understand math, and I know how to guide students toward clarity step by step. My goal is to help students find their way to understanding, build confidence, and feel comfortable with math instead of stressed or lost.

About the lesson

I begin each lesson with a short, friendly conversation to help the student feel comfortable and focused. Creating a calm and supportive atmosphere is a priority for me, because students learn best when they feel safe and understood.

My main goal is not just to help students complete assignments, but to make sure they truly understand what they are doing, down to the smallest details. I explain math in a simple, clear way, using visual examples and step-by-step logic. I focus strongly on practice so students can apply what they learn with confidence.

Lessons can follow the school curriculum or focus on specific topics the student wants to improve. I am always patient, friendly, and supportive, and I make sure every student feels comfortable asking questions.

My lessons are best suited for middle and high school students, especially Russian-speaking students studying in the US.
