Hi there! I'm Jana, a second-year student at the University of Toronto, where I’m diving deep into the world of commerce with a specialization in economics and finance. As a math tutor, my approach is centered on making learning both engaging and effective. I emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving, encouraging students to explore the "why" behind math processes rather than just memorizing formulas.

A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material to reinforce learning. We then introduce new concepts through practical examples, ensuring they connect to the student's experiences. Together, we work through problems step-by-step, with ample time for questions and clarification. Students then tackle problems independently, with my support as needed. We conclude by summarizing key points and assigning practice problems to solidify understanding and prepare for future lessons.

My patience and enthusiasm help build their confidence, fostering a positive and proactive attitude towards challenges. My tutoring is ideal for middle school to high school students, whether they need help with basic arithmetic, pre-algebra, geometry, algebra, or even calculus.
