About Don
I am a Mathematics graduate with over six years of experience tutoring students across a wide range of ages and skill levels. I specialize in helping students build strong fundamentals, improve problem-solving skills, and develop confidence in mathematics through clear, structured instruction.
My teaching style focuses on conceptual understanding rather than memorization. I believe students learn best when they understand the reasoning behind the material, so I emphasize visualization, step-by-step explanations, and practical problem-solving strategies tailored to each student’s learning style.
I primarily work with high school and college students in subjects such as algebra, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. I focus on conceptual understanding, visualization, and problem-solving. In my experience, many students struggle not with the current topic itself, but with gaps in foundational math skills. My goal is to strengthen those foundations while helping students understand the reasoning behind the material rather than just memorizing steps.
I use visual explanations, step-by-step walkthroughs, and guided practice to make difficult concepts easier to understand and build confidence in problem-solving.
My lesson plans are tailored to the student’s needs, but typically involve reviewing foundational concepts first, then applying them directly to homework, coursework, or exam preparation.
What sets me apart is my combination of over six years of tutoring experience and a degree in Mathematics, along with the ability to break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps.
My lessons are best suited for high school and college students studying algebra, geometry, precalculus, calculus, and other foundational math courses.
