About Rachel

I work best with secondary students (middle school and high school) as I have education and extensive experience teaching that age group. I have taught all skill levels as well, from those who simply need help to graduate to those who are honors students headed to prestigious universities. If we work together, I'd like to get to know your student and collaborate on the best route to success.

Having earned a BA and MA in English, as well as teaching at the university level, I know what makes a good literary analysis or essay, and enjoy sharing that knowledge with others as they build their own skills.

About the lesson

My lessons are appropriate for middle school, high school, and university students. Whether you need help with a specific project or assignment, or you want to build your reading/writing skills in general, I can help.

One of my "secret weapons" is that I taught middle school, high school, and college English for many years, so I know what those instructors are looking for and what skills will make students the most successful.

Perfect! Rachel was very engaging and a great communicator. My daughter enjoyed her time with Rachel and felt like she learned exactly what she needed to.

Rachel's response
Anna is inquisitive and curious about a broad swath of topics that intersect: literature, history, psychology, sociology. It was a pleasure to meet her and discuss what she's looking to learn, and to go through a poem with her to gauge her leveling.
