About Edgelyn

As an educator, my foremost duty is to foster a trusting and engaging learning environment where students feel secure and inspired to explore their potential. The role of a teacher involves not only imparting knowledge but also acting as a pillar of support, guidance, and professionalism. This essay delves into the various facets of my teaching practice aimed at reassuring students about my professionalism, establishing my legitimacy, and inspiring their confidence in both my capabilities and the educational journey we embark on together.

About the lesson

My approach blends structured, learner‑centered English pedagogy with the empathetic, service‑oriented communication skills I developed as a returned missionary. My time as a returned missionary adds a different but equally important dimension: communication, empathy, and purpose-driven teaching.

How I Share Knowledge
My teaching approach combines both backgrounds into a practical method:

-Explain → Model → Practice → Reflect
I explain a concept, show an example, guide the student through practice, then help them reflect on what they learned.
-Use real-life and meaningful examples
Whether analyzing literature or improving grammar, I connect lessons to everyday experiences to make learning relevant.
-Encourage questions and dialogue
I treat tutoring as a conversation, not a one-way lecture.

Build long-term skills, not just short-term answers
My goal is to help students become independent learners.
