About Gabby
I bring a unique blend of corporate experience and a strong passion for education, with a focus on language and phonics instruction for young learners. With certifications including a TESOL Certificate (120 hours) and a TCSOL Diploma (Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages), I specialize in teaching English phonics and Mandarin to children through engaging, interactive online lessons. I have experience working with children from diverse backgrounds, including volunteer work teaching refugee and low-income students. My teaching approach is warm, structured, and student-centered, emphasizing phonemic awareness, sound blending, and word recognition—key skills that lay the foundation for confident reading and spelling. My lessons incorporate storytelling, games, and visual aids to keep young learners motivated and focused.
