About Sandra

Hi! My name is Sandra Albaran, and I am originally from Quito, Ecuador, where I grew up with my two sisters and brother. My family roots come from Otavalo, a beautiful town in the mountain region of Ecuador rich in culture and tradition.

I am fluent in Spanish and English, and I also speak a little Quechua, my native ancestral language. I have experience working with children from different families and truly enjoy teaching, playing, and learning alongside them. I am very creative, interactive, and always find fun ways to keep children engaged.

As a mother of a very energetic two-year-old, I am constantly creating games, songs, and activities that support learning through play. This has helped me develop a patient, positive, and encouraging teaching style that children respond well to.

In 2022, I married my husband, David Johnson, and moved to Texas in 2024. Since then, I have continued to strengthen my English skills and am fully fluent and comfortable teaching bilingual learners. I enjoy traveling, hiking, and sharing my culture and language with others.

About the lesson

Lesson Structure:

2. Song or Rhyme (5–7 min)
Spanish nursery rhymes or short stories
(La Araña Pequeñita, Los Cinco Monitos, Los Tres Cerditos)

3. Vocabulary Theme (8–10 min)
Colors, food, animals, or household items
Visuals and repetition (5 key words)

4. Interactive Game (7–8 min)
“Find & bring” or memory games using Spanish
Movement and fun learning

5. Simple Conversation (3–5 min)
¿Cómo estás? ¿Cuál es tu color favorito?
Beginner-friendly speaking practice

6. Review & Praise (2–3 min)
Repeat words learned
Positive encouragement and goodbye
