About Parham

I hold a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University, where my research focused on optical wireless communications. I have 7+ years of teaching experience as a TA at both McMaster and the University of Tehran, and I have tutored 130+ students across +1100 hours throughout Canada and the US.

My engineering background means I teach math the way it's actually used — with intuition and purpose, not just procedures. I know exactly where students get stuck, whether it's a grade 11 functions concept or a second-year university proof, and I build each session around your specific course material.

Courses I Can Help With:

● High School: Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, Data Management, Physics 11 & 12, BC Pre Calculus 11 & 12
● University & College: Calculus I-IV, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Linear Algebra

About the lesson

Every session is built around your course — your textbook, your professor's slides, your upcoming exam. I don't use generic problem sets; I work through what you're actually struggling with right now.

Here's what a typical session looks like: we start by identifying exactly where you're stuck, I walk you through the concept from first principles until it clicks, then we practice with exam-style problems until you can do it on your own. I record sessions on request and send typed notes after each lesson.

I'm available for one-time exam prep sessions as well as ongoing weekly tutoring. Most students see a noticeable improvement within 2–3 sessions. Reach out to confirm availability — I typically respond within an hour.

Perfect! Parham was an amazing tutor and helped me greatly with my Calc II course. He was always very responsive, easy to communicate with, and flexible when it came to making sure I got the help I needed. From the beginning, he made a strong effort to understand where I was struggling and tailored each session to focus on the topics that needed the most attention.

He was excellent at breaking down difficult concepts into clear, digestible steps, which made the course feel much more manageable. He never rushed through explanations and always made sure I fully understood the material before moving on. I also really appreciated that he made the most of every session by coming prepared, staying organized, and focusing on what would be most useful for me.

Beyond the sessions themselves, Parham was also great at sharing notes, examples, and resources even after our time was finished. This made it much easier for me to review and continue practicing on my own. Overall, Parham was extremely helpful, reliable, supportive, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for help with Calculus or any challenging math course.

Signals and Systems was giving me a hard time and Parham really helped me get through it. He's good at explaining the tricky parts like convolution that are easy to get lost in, and he's patient when you need something repeated. Noticed a solid improvement by the end. Would recommend him if you're struggling with the course.
