About Katy
I’m a first-class Geography graduate from the University of Exeter with a strong academic background in both Geography and Science. Having achieved A* grades in A-level Geography and Biology, alongside an A in Chemistry, I have a thorough understanding of the subjects and the demands of GCSE and A-level exams. I have been tutoring students for over three years and really enjoy helping students build their confidence, strengthen their understanding and see their hard work translate into better results. I take a friendly, supportive approach while keeping lessons focused and tailored to each student’s individual needs.

My GCSE Science lessons are structured around building a strong understanding of the content before applying it to exam-style questions. I break down more challenging topics into clear, manageable sections and use diagrams, examples and questioning to check understanding throughout the lesson. We then practise exam questions together, focusing on how to apply knowledge and how to structure answers to pick up marks. Between lessons, I set targeted homework using resources and question banks I have built up over time, allowing students to consolidate what we have covered and giving me a clear idea of any areas that need revisiting in our next lesson.
