About Marissa

I am an aerospace engineer with a strong foundation in mathematics and a structured, professional approach to tutoring. I focus on clear explanations, logical problem-solving, and building genuine understanding rather than memorization. Lessons are adapted to each student’s level while maintaining high academic standards. My goal is to help students gain confidence, improve performance, and develop reliable problem-solving skills they can apply independently.

About the lesson

I meet students where they are at. I explain concepts clearly, step by step, and make sure students understand why a method works before applying it. The goal is confidence and consistency.

Teaching Method:
Concept-first explanations
Step-by-step problem solving with reasoning behind every step
Visual and intuitive explanations
Practice problems tailored to the student’s weak areas
Focus on common mistakes and how to avoid them on tests

Typical Lesson Plan:
Quick review of current struggles or recent homework
Clear explanation of the underlying concept
Guided practice with similar problems
Independent practice to reinforce understanding
Summary of key ideas and strategies for studying

What Sets Me Apart:
Aerospace engineering background with strong math foundations
Experience with higher-level math and STEM problem-solving
Clear, logical explanations
Focus on how to think, not just what steps to follow

-Pre-Algebra
-Algebra I & II
-Geometry
-Trigonometry
-Pre-Calculus
College Level
-Calculus I, II, & III
