About Brittany

As a dedicated educator and tutor, I am passionate about helping students grow in both confidence and skill. I currently provide academic support in 6th grade English Language Arts and Math at my school, where I work closely with students to strengthen their foundational understanding, study habits, and overall academic performance. My experience in the classroom has taught me that every student learns differently. I take pride in creating a supportive, structured learning environment that encourages curiosity, effort, and growth. Whether a student is developing their reading comprehension, learning to organize their writing, or building stronger problem-solving skills, my goal is always to meet them where they are and guide them toward measurable progress. I approach tutoring with patience, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. By combining clear instruction with consistent feedback and encouragement, I help students become independent thinkers who feel prepared and confident in their abilities. Above all, I believe that success in school begins with believing you can achieve it — and I’m here to help every student do just that.

About the lesson

Welcome to my English Language Arts and Essay Writing tutoring program, where students in grades 4–8 build confidence and develop strong reading and writing skills. My lessons are designed to strengthen comprehension, grammar, and written expression through structured, engaging instruction tailored to each student’s needs.
What Students Learn
Each session is customized to support your child’s learning goals while reinforcing key academic standards.
Reading Comprehension: Strategies for understanding fiction and nonfiction texts, identifying main ideas, supporting details, and literary elements.
Writing Development: Guidance on how to plan, organize, and express ideas clearly in paragraphs and essays.
Grammar and Vocabulary: Focus on sentence structure, punctuation, word choice, and effective editing.
Essay Writing: Step-by-step instruction for narrative, opinion, informative, and argumentative essays.
Academic Support: Assistance with school assignments, test preparation, and writing prompts.
Teaching Approach
I believe that every student learns differently, so my lessons are personalized, supportive, and interactive. I combine direct instruction with guided practice and constructive feedback, helping students build skills they can apply independently in the classroom and beyond.
Goal
My goal is to help students become confident readers and effective writers who can communicate their ideas clearly, think critically, and succeed academically.
