About Lavonne

Helping classmates prepare for deadlines back when I was a student taught me that structure matters. I teach because I want to get students moving instead of getting stuck on abstract theory. My approach is simple yet direct.

Being a PhD candidate in Mathematics at Harvard University keeps me grounded in the rigor of the field. I often work with people who require a solid framework and those who prefer to explore concepts alone.

Spacing out our review sessions makes the information stick. I offer a patient environment for homeschoolers, honors students, and anyone feeling anxious about their progress. Starting with an assessment of your current comfort level, we identify exactly where the gaps in your knowledge began. You should expect to solve problems during our time together rather than just listening to lectures.

We focus heavily on quadratic equations, systems of equations, slope, linear functions, factoring, sequences, exponents, and radicals. Quadratic formulas and completing the square become manageable when we break them down into smaller steps.

Absolute value and linear equations also get the same careful attention. Recording every session allows you to review our work whenever you need a refresher. Watching yourself solve a difficult problem is one of the most rewarding parts of the process.
