About Ally

My name is Ally Reyes Acosta, and I am a high school student. A few things I like to do are play the piano, sing, and read books on my free time. I enjoy listening to music, and am currently learning how to play the electric guitar. I was top of my class for multiple years in a row since 5th grade, and won a scholarship that now allows me to play in musicals during the summertime. I like bonding with others and am always open to making new friends.

Finally, I am hoping to make a good impact on others with my tutoring. Most of all, I'm looking forward to learning something new out of this that I can use to grow more, and have more opportunities to help more people in the future.

About the lesson

- Lessons are available to do through Zoom or Google Meet.
- These are done to tutor children through grades K-3.
- Spanish speaking is also available if needed.

The teaching methods and techniques used in the lessons include verbal activities like practicing sounding out words, visual activities to help connect words with objects (ex: a picture of an apple would be used to represent the word or the letter A), and auditory activities like songs. These methods are used to keep the learning engaging and fun, while making sure that the lesson is teaching something valuable and producing a great time.

Lesson plan for KINDERGARTEN:
- Introducing and learning the letters A, B, and C using the alphabet song
- learning 3 new vocabulary words for each letter
- Activities to help practice the letters A, B, and C, and the new vocabulary
- quick review of the lesson and questions

Lesson plan for 1ST GRADE:
- Introducing basic sentence structures
- practice forming simple sentences with "I can," and "I see"
- Activities to practice completing sentences
- quick review of the lesson and questions

Lesson plan for 2ND GRADE:
- Introducing adjectives
- Learning to use adjectives to describe nouns
- Activities to practice using adjectives and nouns
- Review of the lesson and questions

Lesson plan for 3RD GRADE:
- Introducing simple present tense for daily routines
- Using common routine verbs
- Activities to practice speaking, and completing sentences on daily routines
- Review of the lesson and questions
