About Alya

Hi! I'm an IBDP graduate with a strong passion for mathematics, especially calculus, SAT math, and math Olympiads. Having gone through rigorous math training myself, I understand the challenges students face and know how to break down complex topics into simpler, more digestible concepts. I strive to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident tackling problems step by step. My approach is personalized to suit each student’s learning style, whether they need help mastering fundamentals or sharpening problem-solving skills for competitive exams. With my experience and enthusiasm for teaching, I aim to not only improve your math skills but also help you develop a deeper appreciation for the subject. Let’s work together to achieve your goals!

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on building strong foundational understanding through concept-based learning rather than rote memorization. I break down complex problems into simpler steps, encourage critical thinking, and provide real-world applications to make math engaging. I also adapt my teaching style based on the student’s needs, whether they require step-by-step guidance or more challenging problem-solving exercises.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Concept Explanation – I introduce the topic with clear explanations and examples.
Guided Practice – We solve problems together, breaking them down step by step.
Independent Practice – The student works on problems while I provide feedback.
Exam Strategies & Problem-Solving Techniques – Tips for time management and tackling difficult questions.
Review & Q&A – We discuss mistakes, clear doubts, and summarize key takeaways.
What Sets Me Apart:

IBDP Graduate with strong experience in calculus, SAT math, and math Olympiad problems.
Personalized approach based on the student’s strengths and weaknesses.
Focus on problem-solving skills to develop mathematical intuition, especially for competitive exams.
