About Lian

Hello. I am an architect and I really love mathematics and education. I have learned how to solve problems and think critically throughout my time in school and at work. I use these skills when I teach. I want to help students understand math in a way that's easy to follow and I am happy to take my time to make sure they get it. My goal is to help students do better in math and also to feel more confident about the subject. I make sure each lesson is just right for the student so they feel okay asking me questions and joining in. I think every student can be good, at math if they have the help, practice and encouragement. When I tutor I make sure the student feels comfortable and respected and I help them set goals that they can reach with confidence. I am committed to mathematics education. I want to help students learn and grow. Mathematics is my focus and I am excited to teach mathematics to students.

About the lesson

My way of teaching mathematics is to make it simple and easy to understand. I do this by breaking down concepts into small easy to follow steps. I use pictures and real life examples to help students understand. I also like to make learning fun by solving problems

When we have a lesson we start by going over what we learned. Then I teach a concept and we practice it together. After that the students work on their own. Then we go over what they learned.

As someone who also works with designing buildings I can show students how mathematics is used in the world. This helps students see that mathematics is not something you learn in school but it is also used in real life.

What makes me a good teacher is that I am very patient and I can adapt to each students needs. I make sure that each lesson is tailored to the students learning style and speed. My lessons are good for students of all ages from school, to college who need help with mathematics or want to get better at solving problems.
