About Aleksandra

Hi, I'm Aleksandra and I'm delighted you're considering me as your tutor. I'm studying Economics and Management at King's College London and I'm passionate about helping students discover the joy that mathematics brings. Maths captivates me because it's like solving a puzzle where everything clicks into place.
My favourite topics are differentiation and algebra because they're applicable in real-life scenarios. I believe maths is about thinking creatively and developing resilience—not just memorising formulas.

I've excelled in mathematics, achieving grade 9s in GCSE Maths and Further Maths, an A* in A-level Maths and an A in Further Maths.What makes me stand out is my commitment to understanding how you think and learn. I work through problems one-to-one, guiding you towards answers rather than giving them. I'll ask questions that help you think through problems yourself, building your confidence and independence. I'm attentive and organised, preparing thoroughly with relevant practice problems and helping you create structured revision plans.

Outside academics, I've done ballet for 14 years, teaching me discipline and perseverance. I also occasionally engage in fun tennis matches. Whether you're aiming for top grades or wanting to deepen your understanding, I'm here to help. I look forward to what we can achieve together!

About the lesson

I have 6 years of teaching experience tutoring students in Years 9-11 in Mathematics.

To help you reach your goals, we'll map out your target topics and create a realistic timeline together. Whether you're aiming for exam success or building confidence in challenging areas, we'll track progress through regular quizzes and tests.

What makes me stand out is my commitment to understanding how you think and learn. I work through problems one-to-one, guiding you towards answers rather than giving them. I'll ask questions that help you think through problems yourself, building your confidence and independence. I'm attentive and organised, preparing thoroughly with relevant practice problems and helping you create structured revision plans.

Crucially, I'll ask you to explain concepts back to me to show your understanding. I encourage learning by connecting maths to things you actually care about. If you're into football, we'll use stats and probabilities. Into gaming? We'll explore the algorithms behind it. Maths becomes more engaging when it's relevant to your world, not just abstract formulas. What I believe matters the most is building genuine understanding rather than teaching to the test, celebrating progress (not just perfection), and maintaining momentum through consistent encouragement.

My aim is to develop your mathematical thinking and problem-solving confidence, not just deliver content. When you understand why methods work, not just how to apply them, maths becomes less intimidating and much more rewarding.

Before moving to the UK & being accepted to the international foundation course, I met Alexandra through a mutual friend and took several maths classes with her to get to know the UK maths educational system as it’s different to the one abroad. It was very insightful and efficient prep! I progressed from GCSE level to A level in less than a month! I was super satisfied with Alexandra’s very well thought teaching technique, great time management, detailed and attentive approach. Would definitely recommend her as a great tutor!
