About Catherine

I have lived abroad in both France and Spain so have plenty of experience with speaking the languages and understanding the cultures.
While living in France I worked as a live in au pair and English tutor for a multilingual family, focusing on helping their eight year old son with his language studies.
I also spent my year abroad living in the south of Spain and working as an English language assistant in both a primary and a secondary school.
I have previously undertaken a placement in the MFL department of a Southampton secondary school, helping students in their preparations for their French and Spanish oral exams. In conjunction with this, I took a university module in teaching theory and carried out a report on my experiences in the classroom.
From September I will be beginning a School Direct PGCE accredited by the University of Southampton.

About the lesson

I have recently graduated from the University of Southampton with a First Class Honours in BA French and Spanish.
I am now living in central Salisbury and am offering private tutition, help with exam preparations, and homework help for students up to A Level level.
My help would be particularly useful for students struggling to get to grips with their Spanish language studies, or particular areas of grammar.

If you are centrally based I will happily come to your house for the sessions, however, due to lack of personal transport, I cannot travel further afield.

Please see my previous experience for more information. I look forward to hearing from you!

Catherine is much more than a trustworthy tutor: during her period with us as an Au Pair she literally conquered our children, their estime and deep friendship.
Doing so, she could achieve results that no tutor before (...and we had many) could with them.
Catherine's love in the subjects she was teaching moved our children to gave their best and speeded up their learning process.
Thanks to Catherine both our children speak fluent English, and in particular the older one, Alexander, has developed a deep interest for literature
