About Issey

I’m Issei, a bilingual Japanese and English speaker who focuses on practical, everyday Japanese. I make lessons comfortable and easy to follow while helping students build confidence through real conversation. I also offer anime-based lessons where we explore vocabulary, slang, and Japanese culture in a fun and engaging way.

About the lesson

- Teaching method: I focus on real-life Japanese through consistent speaking and conversation practice.

- Typical lesson: Conversation → new vocabulary/grammar → practice → corrections and review.
- Anime lessons: Watch anime together → learn vocabulary, slang, and expressions → explain the culture and meanings → practice using them.

- What sets me apart: I teach the Japanese people actually use in Japan, rather than focusing on words or phrases that are rarely useful in real life.

Ren has an amazing memory, and honestly, I was really surprised by how much he remembers! I think his strong interest in Japanese and anime plays a big part in that. He also knows so much about anime, including some titles I had never even heard of as an anime watcher myself!

I’m excited to teach him as much Japanese as possible and help him continue improving. I really hope he has a great Japanese learning journey, and I can’t wait to tutor him again!
