About David
Hi! I’m David, and I’m a passionate tennis player and coach with competitive experience at the collegiate and USTA levels. I’ve had the opportunity to train with renowned coach Kamau Murray, best known for coaching Grand Slam champion Sloane Stephens. Training under Coach Murray helped deepen my understanding of high level technique, match strategy, and player development.
My experience includes competing in USTA tournaments, playing university tennis, and continuing to develop my game through competitive play and advanced training. Those experiences have given me firsthand knowledge of what it takes to improve, from mastering the fundamentals to refining the details that elevate your performance.
As a coach, I focus on building strong fundamentals, proper technique, footwork, match strategy, and confidence. Every lesson is personalized to your current skill level, learning style, and goals. Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time, preparing for competition, or simply looking to become a more consistent player, I’ll create a structured plan that helps you make steady, measurable progress.
My coaching style is patient, energetic, and encouraging while maintaining high expectations. I believe every player has the potential to improve with the right guidance, purposeful practice, and a positive environment. My goal is for every student to leave each lesson with greater confidence, stronger skills, and a genuine love for the game.

Whether you’re picking up a racket for the first time or looking to take your game to the next level, my lessons are built around you. Every student has different goals, learning styles, and experience levels, so I create a personalized approach that helps you improve efficiently while enjoying the game.
During our first lesson, I’ll evaluate your current skill level and discuss your goals. From there, I’ll build a structured development plan focused on the areas that will make the biggest impact. Lessons can include:
• Proper grips and stroke mechanics (forehand, backhand, volleys, and serves)
• Footwork, movement, and court positioning
• Rally consistency and shot placement
• Singles and doubles strategy
• Match play, scoring, and tennis etiquette
• Mental toughness and confidence under pressure
• Drills designed to accelerate improvement
• Fitness and conditioning specific to tennis
My coaching style is patient, positive, and encouraging while still challenging you to improve every session. I believe the best way to learn is through clear instruction, repetition, and real match situations that build confidence over time.
Whether your goal is to learn the fundamentals, prepare for school or league tennis, become a stronger recreational player, or simply have fun while staying active, I’ll help you develop the skills and confidence to enjoy the sport for years to come.
