About Ava

Hello, I'm Ava! I am a rising Sophomore at Columbia University and I am majoring in History with a minor in Mathematics. I am also a violinist of 12 years, who has graduated Suzuki Level X and plays in the Columbia Bach Society Chamber Orchestra.

My past work/volunteer positions include the Co-Editor in Chief of the Grey Castle Yearbook, a writer for the San Diego High School FUSE magazine, and a volunteer fellow for Rhizome.

Additionally, I have a Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish through the California Department of Education, and have taken significant coursework in both French and Korean.

About the lesson

I strongly believe that explaining mathematic concepts using different and varied of verbal, visual, and symbolic techniques helps students better understand the why behind each problem. My math lessons involve lots of practice problems as well.

My lessons are for students of any age who hope to better understand arithmetic, algebra, pre-calculus, and more.
