STEM subjects like calculus and physics can feel intimidating, but they don't have to be. As a mechatronics engineering graduate, I’ve been through NCEA and university engineering myself, so I know where students usually get stuck—and, more importantly, how to get you past those hurdles.
My goal isn't just to help you pass your next test, but to build your long-term confidence and problem-solving skills.

How I Teach:
I like to keep things simple, practical, and interactive. Coming from a mechatronics background, I focus on helping you understand why things work instead of just memorizing formulas. We’ll break tricky concepts down into plain English and build up your problem-solving skills step-by-step.
A typical session usually looks like this:
- Quick catch-up: We’ll go over what you’re currently working on and pinpoint where you feel stuck.
- Concept breakdown: I’ll explain the theory using real-world analogies, quick sketches, or worked examples.
- Practice together: We’ll tackle questions together until you feel confident taking the lead.
- Exam prep: We'll look at actual NCEA/exam questions, marking schedules, and smart test strategies so you know exactly what markers are looking for.
Lesson Duration:
- 60 minutes: Perfect for regular weekly check-ins and staying on top of schoolwork.
- 90–120 minutes: Great for deep dives before exams or tackling tough internal assessments.
About Me & My Background:
I hold a degree in Mechatronics Engineering, which means I spend every day working with advanced math and physics—from calculus and mechanics to electromagnetism. Having been through NCEA and university engineering myself, I know how overwhelming these subjects can feel at times. I’ve mentored plenty of students through these topics and love making complex ideas feel straightforward and manageable.
